In this project, 7 maps of the Guettinger Woods and Wildlife Area were created for the Eau Claire County Parks and Forest department. The Guettinger Woods The maps were needed because previously, the maps at the park were poor in quality and did little to help out hikers locate the trails they want. Also, the maps were inaccurate and difficult to read because the map had trails on it which don't exist and there was no imagery on the map. Here is outline of what the seven maps created for the project are intended to accomplish:
- One 12" x 18" map which will placed at the trail-head and main parking lot. This map will allow people to get a good overview of the trails before they headout
- Two 8.5" x 11" maps which will be available on Eau Claire County's website for people to look at before they head out on their hike
- Four 8.5" x 11" "You Are Here" maps which will be placed at key intersections along the trails to help people stay on the trail and see where they are.
